6 years of marriage=3 beautiful children

Quinten and I celebrated 6 years of marriage today. In the past 6 years not much has changed in our lives besides having 3 children. Pretty much they came one right after the other. Though don't be looking for #4 any time soon! 3 is a lot of work right now and I don't think one more would be very easy. Check again later but #4 is not coming!

Oh, and happy birthday to my sister Kayla! She gave us the permission to get married on her birthday. I now never have any excuse to forget her birthday!

Kehan's Doc. Appt.

I brought Kehan into the doctor on Tuesday this week for his 3 year well child check. There are no concerns and he is a big boy...like anyone who knows him doesn't know that he is a bit on the bigger side for his age! His new Stats are as follows:

Hieght: 38.75 inches tall 75% percentile for his age
Weight: 36.5 pounds 89% percentile for his age

The doctor looks at me and says,"He is a big boy!" Well yes he is. With an uncle that is close to 6'7" and just about every other uncle being 6' or better it really doesn't surprise me much that he is tall and just so thick! Quinten once commented on his body because he has that "V" shape that guys go for going for him already. I just said well we make good male specimens!

Over all God has blessed us with a very healthy little man and we are very thankful for that!

A bit of haying going on

So I tend to forget to put information on here about the farming my husband's family does around our house. This past week has been busy with haying. I only got pictures of the end product of this production, but Kehan and Kjerstin certainly got their fill of tractor rides as this hay field is on the other side of our driveway.

These are pictures from the lake this past weekend. I actually think they were all taken on Sunday.

We have 4 Pelicans on the lake this year I only got 3 in the picture though.


We also have a Bald Eagle that likes to keep watch over our end of the lake. I think that is his favorite tree.




Here are a few pictures of our "catch and release" of a small northern. Of course the kids think this fish is huge. Kjerstin likes to keep the fish as pets in the live well on the pontoon and continually lifts the lid to watch the fish. She likes to name them all Princess too. This time she even got brave enough to touch it while it was swimming in the live well.

Wow! How different can babies be??

It has been really busy around our house lately so I haven't had much time to post but here are a few more posts to catch everyone up.

Last week on Friday I watch a few kids for the day. There were 3 extra kids at our house. The baby is about 9 months old. So look at the picture and compare Ashlyn and Trustin! He is over 26 pounds and Ashlyn is at 19 pounds 2 ounces at 14.5 months old! It is such a huge difference I just had to take a picture. Trustin is cousin to Ashlyn.

Poison Ivy and pictures of the kids

So in our pursuit to see the baby kittens Kjerstin ran into some poison ivy...at least that is what we think it is. The rash showed up this morning. She isn't really itching it now with the caladryl on it but it rash areas are a bit swollen. I do not have reactions to poison ivy so I tend not to think about those things a lot...now we will have to watch out for it! There is a picture of the back of one of Kjerstin's legs she has spots on the other leg and also on one ankle.

The other pictures were taken yesterday outside. Kehan loves to give Blaze hugs. Although that dog really seems to like to dig certain ones of my flowers up! I am ready to give up on one corner of a garden!

We found the babies!

Ok so we have been searching for days...about 5 for the baby kitties our cat had. Well we found them! My MIL and I stumbled acrossed them while picking wild asparagus behind our pole shed. There are 7 kittens! Anyone need a cat??? 3 are light orange, 2 are calico(black,orange,white) and 2 are a dark orange. So posted is a picture of the kitties in there home under the trees.

Ashlyn's first French braid

Here is a picture of Ashlyn. This is the first time I attempted to braid her hair. She certainly does not sit still like Kjerstin would! It was still cute though.

FOUND!! Abby and Erica!

God has seen to it that Abby and Erica have been found safe, but lost in Denali National Park. Here is a link to the breaking story.

As some of you may know Sarah Barbosa's sister and 1 friend went
camping in Denali National Forrest. When they did not report back to
work on Saturday officials were notified and a search has begun. This
will be the 4th night that they have been missing. Sarah has requested
that you keep her family in your prayers. This is a very difficult time
and there are a lot of unknowns. This story will be released to the AP

Gerald and Lorraine's 50th Wedding Anniversary

Last night June 13, 2008 was the 50th wedding anniversary of some good friends, Gerald and Lorraine. Our children even call them Grandpa and Grandma! They have no children of their own. These are a few pictures of the party. Oh and Ashlyn kissed her first non-related BOY! I can't even remember his name but I know that she is two weeks older than he is.

Ashlyn and Roseola

While we were in Hutchinson Ashlyn and Kehan stayed with Grandma. Ashlyn started to run a fever about 101F Monday morning, she acted just fine but had a fever that came down with Mortin. This lasted until Wednesday morning. I picked them up Wednesday night about 5pm and she was not feverish. Thursday morning she got up and I noticed she was a little red and had a few bumps on her arm and her belly. I didn't think much of it as it never bothered her or anything she seemed fine. I did her hair and noticed her head was red but I just assumed it was from putting her hair up. That afternoon we took a trip into Oklee and I stopped by the clinic just to see if they would weigh her so I could figure out if we could turn her carseat around. She was 19 pounds 2 ounces...14 more ounces to go and she can turn and face forward in the car. I notice her rash had gotten quite a bit worse so the Physician's Assistant took a look at her. Roseola is the conclusion. Nothing we can do but let it run it's course because it is a virus. I am not sure how well you can see it in the pictures but the rash is all over her back, stomache, scalp, neck, and parts of her face. The pictures don't do it justice really.

Trip to Peggy's

On Monday Kjerstin and I took a drive to Hutchinson to visit my best friend Peggy, her husband, and of course her new baby boy Devin! It was a great visit. Peggy has taken to motherhood very well. I know she wishes for more sleep but what new mom doesn't?! It doesn't matter if it is your first or your ninth (right, Mary?) every new mom would like more uninterrupted sleep! Devin likes to be held. He is happiest when he is in someones arms. Other than that he is a pretty good baby. He is nursing well and gaining weight. How can resist a cute little red head like him? I know I would have taken him home with me!

Kjerstin enjoyed their dog Sam. Some moments we weren't really sure how much Sam enjoyed her but as you can see one night after Kjerstin had fallen asleep Sam found a comfortable spot on her legs. I think he liked her quite a bit!

Bridal Shower

Today my sister-in-law and I put on a bridal shower for my brother-in-law Brent's finacee, Megan. There was a nice turn out and she recieved many wonderful gifts. I know she was very thankful for everyone's generocity and enjoyed getting to meet a few more people from this area. Thank you to all who came and those who dropped off gifts earlier.

Sand in the Bucket

This video is pretty self explanitory. She loves the sand and has a pretty good idea on what to do with it and all the fun toys we have for sand. This was shot on June 1, 2008.

Pictures from the Lake

The last two Sundays after church we have packed up and gone to the lake. The family owns property on Lake Sarah, just outside of Erskine,MN. Here are a few pictures from those two days.

Ashlyn LOVES to be there. She has so much fun playing in the sand and trying to get into the water.

Kjerstin and Kehan found their little fishing pole this last weekend and had a blast practice casting with the little fish weight it came with.
