Merry Christmas and Ashlyn's New Stats

It is Christmas Eve. I wish everyone a Merry Christmas on the night of our Savior's birth. The Christ child brings hope to many hearts and pray that He brings hope, peace, and love to your life too.

Luke 2
Christ Born of Mary

1 And it came to pass in those days that a decree went out from Caesar Augustus that all the world should be registered. 2 This census first took place while Quirinius was governing Syria. 3 So all went to be registered, everyone to his own city.
4 Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judea, to the city of David, which is called Bethlehem, because he was of the house and lineage of David, 5 to be registered with Mary, his betrothed wife,[a] who was with child. 6 So it was, that while they were there, the days were completed for her to be delivered. 7 And she brought forth her firstborn Son, and wrapped Him in swaddling cloths, and laid Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.
Glory in the Highest

8 Now there were in the same country shepherds living out in the fields, keeping watch over their flock by night. 9 And behold,[b] an angel of the Lord stood before them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were greatly afraid. 10 Then the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people. 11 For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. 12 And this will be the sign to you: You will find a Babe wrapped in swaddling cloths, lying in a manger.”
13 And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying:
14 “ Glory to God in the highest,
And on earth peace, goodwill toward men!”[c]

15 So it was, when the angels had gone away from them into heaven, that the shepherds said to one another, “Let us now go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has come to pass, which the Lord has made known to us.” 16 And they came with haste and found Mary and Joseph, and the Babe lying in a manger. 17 Now when they had seen Him, they made widely[d] known the saying which was told them concerning this Child. 18 And all those who heard it marveled at those things which were told them by the shepherds. 19 But Mary kept all these things and pondered them in her heart. 20 Then the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things that they had heard and seen, as it was told them.

My, oh, my, how time does fly! I finally brought Ashlyn in for her 18 month well child appt today. Only 2.5 months late but I guess better late than never. So now she is at the 21 pounds 10 ounces, 15% tile for weight, 32 inches long, which is about the 27% tile for height. She recieved one shot today and didn't flinch or shed a single tear. She just laid there and did nothing like she didn't feel it at all! What a big girl she was!

Kjerstin also wanted to be weighed and measured so she stands at 41 pounts and 43.5 inches tall or 3' 7.5" tall another foot and a bit more and she wont need a booster seat anymore!

Merry Christmas to everyone! The kids are very excited to travel to Wisconsin in a few days and for Santa to come tonight.

The latest blankets.

These are a few of my latest creations. I only wish I had more time!

This blanket is for a special little girl who is new to our lives.

This blanket still needs a plaid border put on it. I am not sure where this blanket will end up just yet. I may even teach a class on it!

This one is going to Alisha's baby boy.

This is my niece Mya's blanket.

Quinten is 30

Here are some pictures of Quinten's cake that I made for his 30 birthday. He didn't want a party or anything but we did go out to eat with some friends on Friday night. The other pictures are of the kids eating the chocolate frosting that I had left over from decorating the cake.

A warm thought on a cold day

This picture was taken of one of the last rainbows the summer season had to give us. It reminds me that winter can't last forever. As it stands I do not care for cold weather. The winter season is just about to start and I can hardly wait for it to be over again! Oh, I wish I could enjoy it but I just don't. Give me warm any day!

Oh, the month has been busy.

I have been neglecting this blog because life just hasn't slowed down at all for us. So far this month many things have happened. To start my Grandfather Raymond Fehr passed away Nov.4 in the early evening. We are saddened by this lost but also have so much joy in our hearts knowing he had a strong faith and is not is heaven with our Lord. He had been fighting cancer for a couple years now even though it did go away for a while. I was unable to attend the funeral but am thankful that during the time I was in Wisconsin just a few weeks ago I was able to spend some time with him and visit a bit. He is now at peace and that brings relief to my heart.

Quinten had a 10 day spree on deer hunting here during riffle season. The buck was still elusive. It has not been a great year in that area. He has so far starting with bow season bagged two does. Now we are awaiting Muzzle loading season. Quinten gets to hunting for about 3 mnths straight becaue he hunts with the bow, riffle, and muzzle loader. It leaves me lonely wondering where my husband has gone off too! For the time being his is home at night...

Quinten hits the big 30 on Saturday! Tonight we are going out to dinner and a couple friends are meeting up with us at the restaurant. He didn't want anything big for his birthday so a nice quiet dinner will be fun place to start with marking a new decade!

I can't believe that Thanksgiving is just next week! I don't know how the times flies by so fast. When I was a kid it seemed like the days would never pass!

The Sharp Photo Shoot

These are the chosen pictures out of our Sharp One Hour Photo shoot in Eau Claire, WI. Mary Jo was our photographer and she did a great job as we were done in 15 min! I really like the photos this year. There were so many to choose from but these are the best.

All in Preparation...

Kjerstin giving her weight to the preparation of the big Elk Hunt.

Kehan getting a ride up and down the stairs.

Ashlyn being sure Dad was getting through all the loops.

Ashlyn taking inventory. Dad are you sure you have everything you need?

These are some pictures from this morning as we are packing up for our trip to Wisconsin. We leave tomorrow. Quinten is going on an Elk Hunt in Colorado with my Uncle and the kids were having fun helping him pack up his stuff and try it out. The trips around the house on his backpack frame were by far the most fun. Even Ashlyn had to get in on that action, although she didn't get to ride up and down the stairs.

Fall fun

Ashlyn in her first pile of leaves. She really enjoyed it.

All the kids decided to join in.

Kehan is about to make a big jump.

Now the kids are just waiting for enough leaves to fall to get a giant leaf pile that they can get themselves burried in.

Ashlyn loves to go on the "big kid" swings now, but only on her tummy.

All three kids enjoy the sandbox on one of the last nice days we will have before it starts to get cold. I just can't believe how fast the nice weather passed us by this year!

The start of the school year

Dad, Kjerstin and Kehan waiting for the bus on the 4th day of school. Kehan loves to go down and wait for the bus with Kjerstin. I think Quinten loves to be the one to put her on the bus.

The bus is finally here.

I didn't get a chance to take pictures on the first day of school because I was teaching school myself and things were really busy in the morning around here. When I was done teaching it was Kjerstin's 4th day of school so I took pictures at that time. Kjerstin is really enjoying school again this year. She goes Tuesdays and Thursdays all day. She comes home with so many things to tell me and loves to be with friends!

The Big Day! Sept. 10, 2008!

Kjerstin on her 5th birthday.

Sibling love

Dad sneaking into the picture.

Kjerstin and her 5 candles and chocolate cupcakes.

Here is my oldest in all of slendor! 5 years old I just don't know where the time has gone. To be the mom of a 5 year old really makes you feel how old they are getting and it is like the end of her babyhood and really needing mom. Now it is all about her going out and doing things on her own and creating a strong self identity. I thank God to have had her in our family this long and pray that we will have her with us for many more years to come! Happy Birthday Kjerstin!
