3 months old

Feb. 13, 2009 almost 3 months old!

WOW does time fly! Eli and Ellie are now 3 months old. Eli weighed 10 lbs 14.6 oz and was 23 inches long. Ellie is at 8 lbs 9.4 ounces and 21.5 inches long. Eli is a big boy and Ellie still hasn't learned the joys of eating so she grows a bit slower. Ellie is able to nurse 1-2 times a day now but still needs her milk fortified with a little formula to increase the calories. So she gets 1 tsp Enfacare formula to 6 ounces of breastmilk. She still only takes 2 ounces at a feedingn occasionally she will take 2.5-3 ounces but that is sporadic at best. I really wish she would start to eat more! Both babies are starting to sleep all night. Eli more often then Ellie but I will take what I can get at this point. Both babies are smiling a lot and have good head control. Neither of them really likes their bellies and therefore don't pick their heads up off the floor very well when placed on their bellies. Eli loves the Sleepy Wrap I have and Ellie not so much but it certainly comes in handy! We are also now a cloth diapering family! So excited about that. I wish I had more money to buy some of every kind I come across because cloth diapering is so easy these days and there are so many options out there! We were going through close to 100 diapers a week so that is about $100 dollars in 5 weeks so cloth is the way to go for us and yeah for less diapers in the landfill! They take like 100-500 years to degrade in the landfill and it is the #1 thing people put in the landfill. I do use disposables when we leave the house but at home it is cloth. It really is not that hard and I like it! I will post later about the kinds I have and pictures of the babies in them. I have more coming in the mail so I want to wait until I can review all of the different kinds before I post about the diapers.
